Everyday, a lot of kids experience bullying in school. All throughout the world, there are many organizations that try to educate people about the bullying. These organizations also get involve with schools to teach the leaders how to react and how to put a stop to it.
Bullying and Sexual Harassment in SchoolsCommittee for Children – this organization has been around since 1979. The founders are Dr. Jennifer James and Dr. Debra Boyer. The organization has humble beginnings with only a handful of employees and community volunteers. Today, the organization has a global reach, operating in other countries like Germany, Finland Denmark, and more.
Safe Schools Coalition – this organization was founded in 1988 and used to mainly operate in Washington. Its mission is to support the LGBT community in schools and make them safe places where every child can thrive. The group has anti-bullying projects that encourages everyone to participate. This includes students, teachers, and parents. Today, the organization has become a worldwide entity publishing anti-bullying posters and organizing anti-bullying activities for schools.
Bullying and Sexual Harassment in SchoolsPeaceful Schools International – this is an organization that is based out in Canada. Its main objective is to educate children about bullying and provide support to those who are being bullied. It was founded in 2001 by Hetty van Gurp, an activist who served as a teacher for 30 years.
Years before its founding, Hetty's son was bullied and was thrown violently to the ground, causing serious injuries that led to his death. It is this incident that caused Hetty to establish the organization.
Secret Service Safe School Initiative (SSI) – this is a government-funded study involving school shooting incidents and their attackers. The study aimed to identify if the attacks could have been prevented and if the attacks have correlation with bullying. The link provides us a final report on the results of the study.
Bullying on SchoolsKid Power – Kid Power is now also known as Kid Power International. It operates in the US and other international sites. It is a combination of many organizations that rolled into one.
Tim Dunphy is its co-founder and senior instructor of self-defense. He has as sixth degree Black Belt in Tae Kwon Do and has been instrumental in growing the organization. Kid Power does not only provide safety instructions. It is also an active provider of bullying solutions and sexual abuse prevention.
Stop Bullying Now – this group was originally managed by Stan Davis. He was a human rights advocate and has worked abused and traumatized children. He also trained Child Protective Workers. Today, this site is now managed by Dr. Elizabeth Englander. She has worked with Stan for many years and took over when Stan retired in 2017. The site offers many resources on the subject on bullying and the LGBT youth.

Initiatives to Combat School BullyingBullying No Way – this organization provides resources that define bullying and how to appropriately respond. It provides helplines to parents should their children experience being bullied in school. Apart from that, the organization can help schools in planning an environment that is safe from bullying.
Girls' Health – a great resource for girls who are victims of bullying. It offers advice on what to do if bullied and how to prevent it.
Information on Dealing with Bullying Strategies for ParentsKids Health – this site provides information about bullying not just for kids but also for teens and for parents. It offers guidance such as ways to make your kid bully-proof and how to cope and deal with cyberbullying. More importantly, it teaches kids not to bully.
Direct Gov – this site is a government-run website that provides legal definitions on topics around bullying. It provides tips on how to handle bullying and it also has resource links how to and where to report bullying incidents.
