Gender violence is defined by the United Nations as the term that distinguishes common violence from that which occurs in individuals or groups based on their gender. However, popularly, this term is better known as the physical and verbal aggression exercised by man over women and never, on the contrary, what is obviously a discriminatory treatment that violates the rights and protection of man.
It is public and notorious that our society is manifestly aware of violence against women, which is due to the fact that our society was governed by strictly patriarchal values where there exalted the power of man within the relationship, relegating women to a role of submission, so that in general, the man felt the right to apply correction when the woman rebelled or did not fully meet their requirements, correction that usually resulted in violence.
However, in recent years, society has evolved and with it the need to instill gender equality as a premise. But what happens when it is the man who suffers aggression on the part of his wife? The violence of women against men is not a myth, there are even sociological studies that speak of parity in percentage terms of aggression in all its varieties towards the man.
On the other hand, there are also studies that claim that the abuses committed by women against their husbands are more frequent. However, only 1 in 10 men who suffer mistreatment by their wives denounce it for fear of ridicule or because of the fear that they do not believe the woman's aggression against him is protected by the law, alleges that it was in self-defense. Here we show you some websites that talk about the abuse of men:

It is imperative as a society that we make a deep reflection. In times of equality where both genders occupy common positions and perform functions with equal efficiency, it is unacceptable to have laws that give protection to only one of the genders, in what is undoubtedly a discriminatory treatment for the other gender.
