The perfect relationship at this age is between two mature adults who can really benefit from a relationship built, first and foremost, on friendship, overtime. The kind of relationship which can provide psychological and emotional and support in a completely honest, and transparent way. The kind of relationship that we always yearned for, but somehow just always seemed to be too elusive to capture, when we were much younger. Love may have been easier to find then, but it was also much easier to lose, due to immaturity and ignorance. I have certainly made mistakes in my lifetime but have learned along the way about what is most important in life and a lasting and loving relationship. Intimacy is much more about communication than it is about anything else.

I no longer think about all the great things I can still accomplish in my lifetime. Now it has become much more about being there to always convince that very special lady in my life about how beautiful and loved she continues to be, right up to the last moment until we can be rejoined together, forever.

I keep seeing loneliness in the vast number of mature men and women who have given up on ever finding a relationship. Especially if one is not surrounded by family and grandkids to fill that empty void. It is sad that they cannot find each other, but most have just given up on any hope of finding that kind of relationship again.

Trying dating sites can perilous and unrewarding due to the distances involved and too many who just look to prey on the vulnerable and lonely. I get messages and emails from many young ladies, but I am not interested in that.

I believe we should open ourselves to what the Universe still has waiting for us if we just put some effort into it. With slow but sure exploration, over time, a like-minded relationship can be developed into so much more while continuing to have regular deep, honest, and intimate communication so that we can really get to know each other. This sort of relationship can bring the best out of both and allow continued growth in so many ways. To rekindle the motivation to work at enjoying the life we still have, which can become even more precious to us both.

But, alas, fear of the unknown and fear of rejection due to thinking of ourselves as not being as young and beautiful on the outside as we once were, is what stops us from even trying.

Remember, physical beauty is only skin deep but always fades with time. But it can be replaced by a far more important and lasting beauty that comes only from the inside. Now it is much more about moral character and courage along with the wisdom we have developed, that comes only with experience and age, that is the most attractive.
So, no matter your present physical condition or age you may still find someone similarly situated. Then, by opening up to just caring for each other, while not expecting any more than friendship and companionship, it may blossom into so much more! And in life, you only get one, or maybe two chances, so don’t waste another opportunity!
