About Me:
Why people are poor ....
Not all poor people are “just lazy.” Some work very hard. Case in point – I worked for awhile as a cashier at a popular grocery store in Bozeman. I met a older woman – in her mid to late 60s at least – who could hardly walk. Her car was tied up with bailing twine to keep it from falling apart. She had worked very hard all her life as a cashier and in other blue collar jobs and was still dirt poor. Should we blame her for being poor?? “It must be her fault somehow.” That is something we like to think or say, that way it takes the responsibility off of us to help her.
Perhaps it is her fault? She was not smart enough to go to college or to get a better job, therefore she is in this predicament now – aging, failing health, and no money to support herself.
Not all just waste their money. Many people in America and elsewhere just live hand to mouth. They cannot save because there is always something they have to pay immediately – like rent, electricity etc. They skimp on medical care because they cannot afford it. Eg. Their teeth fall out because they cannot afford dental care.
And, just because you were able to succeed does not mean everyone else can.
