I’m a self proclaimed DIY’er. When I’m home on the weekends I love to do yard work. I have a knack for fixing most things within reason. But I don’t use reason so I try anyway. Just to give you an example, my first house was a 2 bedroom 1bath home with the washer and dryer in the kitchen a living room and small dining room. We had a single attached garage. It was a nice starter home. When our daughter came along we turned the one bedroom into a nursery. Then my son came along 2 years later. We switched bedrooms so the kids could have the bigger room. We crammed into the nursery. Less all the baby decorations. So I got with an architect who drew up some plans and blew me away. He had no idea I was going to be the one building this project. Had to go to the building department in front of the zoning committee. I needed 3/5 votes. It passed and I said should take me 6 months. Two years later I was moving the kids into their upstairs bedrooms with adjoining Jack and Jill doors to their own bathroom. I had built it over our new two car garage full dinning room and our new laundry room and mechanical chase under the stairwell to their bedrooms. Then two years later I built a great room on the back of the existing house. That took 8 months. All in all the house was 900 sq feet when we bought it when we moved out after the kids graduated high school it was nearly 2700 sq ft. I did that all while being a sales manager by day. Come home and put in 4 hours a night. Long days that made me an old man a lot quicker. It was all worth it.
I’m still a concert goer love live music. When I’m home I’m always up for a fire in the backyard. Music, good friends, great conversations and cold libations! Vacation getaway favorites are Myrtle Beach, cruises and tropical destinations.
