I've lived in Southwest Florida for 43 years. I used to know many of the movers and shakers and was active in community service organizations and nonprofits.
I moved from Waterford Michigan for a job at WINK-TV after graduating Michigan State University in 1983. I started my video production company in 1985 (Barron Productions Inc), and produced everything from employee communications to infomercials for K-Tel. I was an active bachelor until I married at 45 and had my first child at 50.
I grew up on a lake in Michigan and was an extremely active boater/diver/fisherman until I recently sold my last boat. I'm familiar with the waters from Sarasota to the Tortugas, the Abacos, and the East Coast from Charleston to Key West. I cruised for years in a 41 ft DeFever Passage Maker. Past president (two terms) of the Calusa Dive Club, I've been a scuba diver since I was 14.
I read and write constantly. I'm a very active traveler and have friends all over the world. I have family and friends in NYC and visit often. I love to cook and entertain and have a good repertoire of dishes from many cultures.
I've been back in the States for a year now because of legal problems with my divorce. I'm extremely lonesome. Most of my friends here have moved away or moved upstairs if you know what I mean.

My Ideal Match:
I'm looking for someone who's kind, creative, a reader with a sense of humor. No Red Hats please. An adventurous spirit and willingness to try new things is a big plus. You should be open to spontaneity. I tend to not make plans very far into the future, especially social events. I guess that's bad but the upside is I'm ready to go in a moment's notice.
