MY PERSONALITY: CRAFTY (AS IN BEING A CRAFTSMAN), I’M ALSO BLUE COLLAR, BOOKWORM, HOMEBODY, TRAVELER. I am a laid back, easy going, yet vigorous Southern gentleman and something of a romantic. You know, flowers on the first date, opening doors for ladies, that sort of thing. I retired early, but I still work hard physically virtually everyday. I am financially secure so, I am no burden on my sons. I own my home overlooking a lake in the country with all kinds of wildlife. Of course, like any good Southern man I own a pickup truck, as well as a car and a couple of tractors. I have an inside dog, a Shih Tzu and she is spoiled rotten.
I am a widower and have yet to date anyone. I tried some pay sites, briefly, for dating and found nothing but scammers, con artists, money grubbers, liars, gamers, etc. till I got sick of it. So, I’m just looking to see where this may go: chat/meet/date, perhaps, develop a friendship, maybe more. I like going out to eat, going to theater, watching movies & sports on TV. I am housebroken (haha). Decades of marriage has taught me to be loyal, honest, faithful, chivalrous and to always put the toilet seat down when I'm through.
My favorite music to dance to is rock, but I also like to listen to classical, R&B, Motown, Country. I don't care for Rap.
I'm comfortable staying at home or travelling. Besides visiting my sons, I’ve always wanted to go to Key West, Florida. I also like going to the Appalachian Mountains and I plan to return to Europe in the future.
I do not smoke at all. I only drink occasionally, and never if I am going to drive.
Hobbies: fishing, reading, writing, watching movies, comedy (Like ventriloquist Jeff Dunham, Jeff Foxworthy and his Blue Collar tour, and others). I lead a vigorous lifestyle, as in chainsawing trees into manageable lengths to load and dump. The outdoors is my gym and the logs are my weights. I also power walk/jog, swim, and I used to bowl a few years ago and I like shooting hoops.
