I'm in Alabama and Alabama guaranteed won't spend money on education for children whose parents are poor.
Anyone who has any knowledge of history knows that the reason the Articles of Confederation were rescinded was because power left to solely in the hands of the state benefited the elite white population and noone else.
Slaves and itenerant farmers were lucky to have food, much else anything else.
Anyone who thinks this is going to benefit them ,better have enough money that the can pay entirely for their children's education. -

It takes all necessary steps to return authority over education to the States and local communities while ensuring the effective and uninterrupted services, programs, and benefits.
Conservative states like Alabama might feel the brunt of such a move. However, its State Board of Education assumes that the federal funding levels of their schools remain intact, with or without the Department of Education.
Needs approval of Congress.
