LetsHangOut.com has created a very nice platform. Much better than the more popular pay sites in my opinion.

The only drawback is that it's pretty much a ghost town. I think that the biggest reason for this is that it is not so well known.

Thanks for the suggestions. We are definitely aware of better organization that needs to be done, along with attracting new members. The site is going to look much better and will be better organized in the near future, along with a few new features as well.

I personally have seen negative developments in every other platform, and I am more interested in giving this a shot.

Mingle2 was promising, but if you'll see my profile, you'll see the kind of people they protect. I had been there less than a day posting in forums having a great conversation, and this man sent me harassing messages and then stole my profile images and began posting about me. I reported and blocked and nothing was done.

EVERYTHING I posted was deleted and I was banned. My reviews vanished as well.

Mingle2 was the best I had found (and I was still brand new)... So be cautious. There are many scammers, traffickers, and jerks thriving on these platforms.

I know what you mean about scammers. There's alot of them on free date sites. I have one chatting with me right now. I'm just playing along, out of boredom mainly, until she gets around to asking me to send her money. They're pretty easy to spot.

I've been on a couple other sites. I do like that theres no profanity or nudity, but Never, ever, never, never, never, have I been in communication with a genuine human. Either bot, or faker wanting me to send money, the nerve. I do have a specific request/want, and always want to start out with an established dialog (no time limit) then move forward from there. Alas, not meant to be. Maybe thatll change with lets hang out...Idk,

My thoughts exactly in the last couple of years I have joined three different pay dating sites.The people that are on this site are more honest about what they want. In my opinion and experience it is a waste of money to join a dating site. Who knows I might get lucky

I happen to be a strange fish myself

I wish there was a better way of notifications with their Messaging function at least. Email notifications don't always alert and while I do check my email daily, can miss a message by hours or not notice until the day after if it comes in at a bad time.

I respond as timely as possible when anyone reaches out, as soon as I find out.

Just some news: Our membership growth is steadily increasing month over month, our site is more active than it's ever been and we've gotten better at dealing with the bots and fakes. We are working on a 2.0 version of the site, major league project in the works. Unlimited photo upload, video upload, better notifications, better organization - better everything and still completely free to use. Unfortunately it is taking a bit longer than expected, hopefully we can release it later in the year.

As the above user recommended, we'll also be offering that free and optional photo verification service as well. Users will be able to filter search and restrict mail/contact settings for verified users.

So far almost every "woman" I've met here has "fallen in love with me" and "can't live without me" after a very few chats, and then they need financial help with something, or they are trying to collect on some will and want my banking information. Does anyone really fall for that? I've about given up on this site. I've warned on my profile that if that is what they are after, try someone else because I will be a waste of their time, but it hasn't had any effect.

You'll never make a real connection until you get rid of all of the scammers.

From the deathroes of Internet Relay Chat, I actually find the scarecity or othwise empty user volumes found within this platform full of curious shadows of invisible intrigue. Through time, Ive discovered the most interesting individuals can be found on platforms less traveled. Even those who speak to the platform as though they were breathing within it's virtual confines. Sometimes, less or shadow based realms have more to offer inquiring minds trolling in this marathon of faceless nams..

Just joined this site, I see more then half that have joined haven't visited there profile, maybe they have met someone, I think if someone hasn't visited there profile for 30 Days, should be removed, thank them for using this site if no response 30 Days remove them.

Actually, I have found hang out to be quite selectively active! Once a person learns all the setting options available to you, Hangout allows people to be invisible as they search so that they don't draw unwanted attention to themselves! Then when someone sees a person they are interested in, they reach out, while no one else sees them. It's pretty ingenious! I love it for that reason. Another cool thing is that if you park your profile here, then your info still gets shared with other paying dating sites. If someone really wants to meet you, they don't have to spend more money to sign up at Hangout to reach out to you. This is truly brilliant! People don't really want to have to keep spending money across sites to message someone that may never respond, but here, it's worth the gamble to reach out because it's free. The downside? I wonder if this is a data harvesting site because it is free... I can't seem to identify the creators... hmmm anyone know? that could be a potential problem to some - just my thoughts.

Because of the downside, that is why I don't use my exact birth date. Unfortunately, this site is way too quiet.

I don't understand either, or they need to delete their account.

I don't like how hard it is to locate people in my area and that many of the people sending me requests live nowhere near me. It is free so that may make it more complicated to use...

f*ck this site. I tend to agree with the guy who thinks it likely exists for data collecting purposes, since it’s (supposedly) geared toward people who like to party. I’ve yet to encounter a single legitimate and viable account of someone who is even remotely close to where I live. f*ck. This. Site. In. Its. Neck. And f*ck you, federal or intelligence agent who haphazardly keeps tabs on this site and creates one new fake female account, once a month.

Honestly it doesn't really need more features, I mean in theory we can call each other anon anyways (which is unique to alot of dating sites) I personally havent tried it yet.
What we need are more members, but with more members come more fakes, scammers etc. And it decreases our interest in the site because of wasted time talking to scammers and the likes, and the reverse happens, people LEAVE.

So then theres so many members we need some serious verification, (which adds to site cost and its now no longer free, more lost user base) ID's, fingerprints and the likes, and again the REVERSE happens people LEAVE, noone wants all their data on some server like that nowdays, we all know better.

I've been on most the other dating sites, and I find myself returning to this one WHY?

Because the majority of the people I talk to are REAL. Thats an edge you have on this platform that the rest dont.
The members report the fakes, the fakes dont stay on here too long because the choices who we can talk to are so thin, and thats actually a good thing.

(I mean like Tinder does) if you wanna give your drivers license, SS# a retinal scan and everything else and pay outrageous fees to "hopefully" meet somebody, and then again, its a fling at best, which Im not really looking for.
(It completely didnt work for me, the admin plants "matches" that you didnt even swipe right on that are older members (paid) keeping them on the platform so they dont bail and keep paying monthly fees, or MUCH younger than me and only want a sugar daddy or entertainment.)

I ran into alot of issues with matches completely going poof for no reason on the platform that I was having a good time with, even tho everybody's been verified etc too.

You first get on there and sure a match a day or so, easily maybe even two a day..until the weekends.. after a couple of weeks..then NO MATCHES, and "upgrade for $29.99!!" I UPGRADED AND IT GOT WORSE! Buy Platinum! Did that too! NO CHANGE.
It was VERY obvious whos running the show.
On Tinder admin has full control if you match..or if you dont..end of story.

I say leave it like it is, add emojis to mail my only whine, SLOWLY get new people on here, and screen them for fakes, and be devoted to it, and this site will do well. Simple IP address verification works pretty well, theres lotsa methods.

I enjoy the smaller member base, more honesty, more direct, less "playing the field" less problems in general and it really makes us talk to eachother regardless of what state we live in, because were so limited on choices.
Ya KNOW? Singles sites arent all about "hooking up" with someone, you can make a friend and talk to them too!

Where I would say..skip a 55 year old woman just because shes 55 and slightly out of my age/interest range, after awhile, Im talking to that 55 year old woman, because a lack of choices, and sometimes your PLEASANTLY SURPRISED at what you find!

I find many people fail at relations because they're looking for a "spec" or "type" or "max/min age" of person, Ive learned that love has no color, no age, and no boundaries, it just "is."
